Harry Potter definitely grew up a lot more with its readers than Percy Jackson did. The first few Harry Potter books feel very targeted at a younger audience and the latter books take an increasingly more adult writing style as Harry grows up. That doesn’t happen to nearly the same extent in the Percy Jackson books.

Percy is one of my favourites for that, next to the poetic story of Regulus. So what follows is completely hypothetical, but it's how I would write Percy's story.
