Feb 4, 2022 · The ST60 doesn't share the same raw panel with the VT and ZT. The latter two had an improved red sub pixel. To the OP, we are still enjoying the VT60 in a light controlled room with a very dark gray wall behind it. Toatlly love it when the lights go out. The image just floats in the room. It really kills the idea of backlighting a tv.

Jul 24, 2013 · The ST60 can get bright enough for most rooms. Unless you have very large windows with no window treatment, it should be fine. The F8500 can nearly reach LCD brightness and has a better filter than the ST60 though. It also costs a lot more. Blacks: VT60 > ST60 > F8500 > VT50 Color: VT60/VT50 > ST60/F8500 (splitting hairs here)
