Your PS3 will think it's on a (slow) ethernet connection, but your router will see your PS3 as a wifi device. You could use a power line adapter to increase both speed and reliability.

Nov 30, 2023 · I recently jailbroke a new fatty off the bay. At first it had no wifi connectivity. Naturally, as a broke mofo on a shoestring budget, I tried to just reset it and pray that it would somehow work. And it did! Just long enough to jailbreak it :/ Come to find out fat ps3's have an issue with certain wifi signals crashing the card.

Sep 24, 2022 · Even if your PS3 has wifi, the adapter that sor2hi listed might get you better performance with modern wifi routers. All PS3s came with gigabit ethernet, and it seems that some came with 802.11b/g networking which is 11/54 megabit. I'm reading that some may have come with n, which is faster (but not faster than gigabit), so YMMV.

Jun 27, 2013 · Yeah the ps3 does have a wifi/bluetooth card. It's not integrated into the motherboard thankfully, and it's not that big of a pain to replace either. Here's a link that walks you through step by step on how to replace it, and really it isn't that bad a job. The only question is whether or not a slim/super slim has a separate board or integrated.

And here are steps that I used to resolve: Find a new 2.5" drive that you can use (you can also use your ps3 drive, but the data will be completely unrecoverable which wasn't a concern for me) Connect the drive to a windows machine. Wipe the drive as MBR and create a 30GB FAT32 partition. Insert back into the PS3.
