The PB ring will be the one that is different. You use the same crimp tool on the PB ring. ANd the same go/no go gauge.

Jul 25, 2021 · With a well-designed pex install, you may only need one fitting at the beginning of the run, and another onto the valve or other device at the other end. FWIW, it takes more of an open mind to live with a good pex layout, as the pex, with the naturally flexible tubing, doesn't look as neat as a well-done copper install.

Aug 10, 2010 · The Polybutylene to PEX adapter fitting comes with a copper colored crimp ring for the PB side and a black crimp ring for the PEX side. Can I use the same 1/2" rental crimp tool (which says its for PEX) for both rings or do I need a PB crimp ring tool as well?

Feb 12, 2010 · Since Viega fittings are also ASTM F877, would the Nibco and Viega stainless sleeves, crimp tool be interchangable between both systems? The Nibco tool looks like ones for copper rings w/go/no-go gauge, unlike the Viega press tool. I've found a local plumbing supply house near me that carries the Nibco Dura Pex supplies.

Done. It also has less restrictions, as the fitting of the other systems must fit inside the 'normal' ID of the tubing, further reducing its diameter.

As the tube contracts, it creates a strong seal without needing crimp rings. Compression fittings are another option, but they’re not as secure as the expansion method.

Oetiker clamps - one crimping tool is used for all sizes - can use standard PEX pipe. 3. Black copper crimp rings (various brands), with various brand pipe.
