WEBMay 9, 2007 · This will throw off the MAF readings, and cause the CEL you are getting. This is a common problem with newer Mazdas. You have to have the MAF housing diameter perfectly correct, or you will get lean fuel trim codes. I believe the MAF housing diameter is approx 2.75". Kevin B.

The P2177 seems to do with airflow (like MAF sensor). I assume the dealer cleaned or replaced the MAF. If they just cleaned the MAF and the problem didnt go away it could still be that the …

After about 2 miles (just to get it home), the check engine light finally came on. I scanned the codes, got P2187 code and P2177 pending. I checked the gas cap and was on tight.

WEBJul 12, 2012 · you can go to autozone and rent (for free) an O2 sensor removal tool I wish I could tell you this job is easy peasy but from personal experience, and from being on the forums there is a chance that the threading on your O2 sensors is melted and that sensor pretty much has to be torched out.
