Oct 2, 2012 · I am normally a strict fixed blade guy, but this broadhead has me considering it. From the reviews I've read, it seems like a good choice for large game, specifically elk. It has a fixed head (2 blades and chisel tip) and then two additional expanding blades that fold back increasing the total damage diameter are to 1.5 inches.

Jul 18, 2018 · I also prefer a 400+ weight arrow with a fixed blade. I use Easton axis with a slick trick broadhead and get great results. If you ever have the unfortunate experience of hitting an elk in the shoulder blade though you will find yourself relentlessly researching arrow weights, FOC, broadheads and everything under the sun for most likely no reason.

The arrows aren’t coming out perfectly straight, and the broadhead catches more air than a fieldpoint, so it flies farther from center before the fletchings can correct the flight- some people call it “broadheads planing”, but it’s the rest being out of tune for how you shoot your bow.

Jan 30, 2019 · Every broadhead advertising says they "fly like a field point". And half well made head should out of a properly tuned bow. That being said the thin curved blades would be a no go for me. And if they held together I 6 blades sure is a lot of friction to push through a big animal. I'm sure they work good on any small critter like most heads do.
