Feb 12, 2017 · I had the same situation - from a colostomy to temp ileostomy to reversal. I am 9 1/2 months out now. At first it was lots of diarrhea but over the months, as my intestines have gotten back in balance, I am getting more regular with less bouts of diarrhea.

Dec 10, 2013 · I am now 4 months post reversal but had an ileostomy rather than a colostomy. I have lost 1/3 of my colon which is quite a lot. I experienced much of what you describe in the first few weeks including night time trials!

May 19, 2014 · I had reversal surgery May 16 2024 the next day at turkey mashed potatoes and gravy. The following day day had a cheese burger and pizza.had diarrhea once the following day then everything went back to normal sent me home on the 3 day.everything is normal eat what ever I want but I constantly have a lot of gas.

Feb 11, 2015 · Then to solids. I had to be able to eat solids and have a bowel movement before being released. I don't know what kind of ostomy you have so afterwards might vary. I had a colostomy reversal and the only restriction was raw fruits and vegetables because they contained too much roughage. After two weeks, I was told to eat whatever I want.

Jan 7, 2015 · This was 30 years ago. I was very ill but after 6 months I was ready for a reversal. Had the reversal and had the same experience you did. Very bloated with a hard tummy. Apparently I perforated again after 4 days. Went back to surgery and had a temp Ostomy. Waited another 6 months. Had another reversal and it worked for 30 years.
