Which Free CAD would you recommend for 3D printing?
Apr 2, 2013 · I am looking for a (preferably free and open source) CAD program that I could run without jumping through additional hoops on my Linux PC (Ubuntu 12.04) with an eye on exporting the models for 3D printing as well as potentially for other types of CNC manufacturing, most often laser cutting (2D) but potentially CNC milling etc.
Open source sim racing cockpits community looking for CAD
Jul 9, 2020 · I've been working with them to open source their old DIY rig designs (hardware). These are full-motion simulator cockpits made with 80/20 T-slot aluminum. Jul 15, 2021 · And of-course, this is all done together in the same 3D model to check for clearances, process-flow, etc. 2D plan and section drawings are made by making slices in the 3D model to do our layouts and detailing. This is what I'm looking for in an open-source 3D CAD program such as FreeCAD. I look forward to further developments. Cheers, Kris
FreeCAD as a replacement for SketchUp - FreeCAD Forum
Aug 1, 2020 · I'm an architect interested in going with more open source tools instead of the typical Autodesk & Trimble software.
