The name is Onix. Onyx is a silicate mineral, which I guess Onix is made of. For me it’s always been ‘Onix’ because I remember when Nintendo released the DS Lite they had the white, coral and Onyx colours and I remember never having seen the word outside the pokemon ‘Onix’, and that the spelling was different.

One Mandela Effect that really creeped me out recently. It was the fact that the name of the Pokemon Onix is not spelled Onyx. I heard about people saying there was a mix up and some people misspelled it because of the gemstone, however I remember it in all of the games and it was on cards and everything and it was always spelled Onyx.

Miltank does pitiful damage to Onix with Stomp if you're reasonably leveled. Miltank needs a max damage Rollout to be able to inflict good damage on Onix. Onix can't do much though unless you Screech Miltank 2-3 times. The problem with Falkner is that his Pidgeotto will spam Mud Slap forcing you to switch out.
