WEBApr 14, 2023 · We would recommend uninstalling the Xfinity Stream App completely, and hard restarting the Fire Stick (or Fire TV) by unplugging it from the power outlet for several minutes. After that, power it back on, download the app again, and see if you are able to access the newest firmware version. I am an Official Xfinity Employee.

Clearing the Cache and cookies ~ Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, then select the app that's shutting off. From there, you can clear the cache and data for that app.

Xfinity stream closed caption on firestick
WEBFeb 2, 2022 · i found that the firestick has a default setting to always turn on closed caption if available on the playing video. it is under firestick>settings>accessibility>closed caption. i believe that the many people having this problem on different devices are blaming the xfinity app, when the solution is actually in the media player device.

WEBJan 19, 2023 · Xfinity streaming incompatible with firestick 2nd gen. It seems the xfinity streaming app is incompatible with Amazon's 2nd gen firestick. After installing and opening the app, a message pops up telling me to upgrade the android software to 5.0 and then install the app. The android version is 5.2.9.3. Is there a fix for this?
