Among the many treasures discovered in the excavations at Afrasaib in present-day Uzbekistan, the oldest version of chess was Chataranga, which consisted of seven pieces. Feb 29, 2024 · Many version of the set were made for the 1972 WCC match. And you got the drupy knight design that is also found in the Bobby Fischer Ultimate Chess set. There many tells from the photos that suggest this was and is a high quality chess set. Look at the thickness and exactness of the felt on the chess set. This was no cheap chess set.
