Inspiring girls' futures since 1889 – Old Palace of John Whitgift is an academically selective, Independent School for Girls aged 3-18.

Old Palace is a site of amazing history stretching back to the 9th century. Not many schools can boast a classroom that was once Queen Elizabeth I’s bedroom. The site of Croydon Minster has been a place of learning and worship since 896 AD. As for the School building itself, it was for centuries the summer palace of the Archbishops of Canterbury.

We welcomed over 80 alumnae to our annual OPA Summer Reunion and what a lovely day it was; the sun shone, we enjoyed an excellent lunch in the historic Banqueting Hall and our Sixth Form guides kindly showed guests around the Old Palace.

New students find the Old Palace Senior School community welcoming, supportive and full of exciting opportunities. Girls enjoy a bonding trip at the start of the year to ensure they get to know fellow students across the whole year group.
