Visitors to Okage Yokocho can experience delicious local foods, Japanese history and culture, traditional local customs and the heartening kindness that is famous in Ise. Okage Yokocho’s buildings were constructed in reverence to Shinto shrines and the deities that inhabit them.

Located about halfway down Oharaimachi is Okage Yokocho, a small district which recreates a townscape of past centuries (Edo Period to early Meiji Period). Completed in 1993, Okage Yokocho features various shops and restaurants.

Okage Yokocho is a small area with shops and food outlet just off the main street of Oharaimachi. Although Oharaimachi's buildings are often a couple centuries old, but Okage Yokocho's buildings are pretty new since they only built it in 1993 (think I read this somewhere).

Okage Yokocho is about a 5-minute walk from the shrine entrance. From Iseshi station, and take a 17-minute bus ride bound for Ise Jingu (Naiku). Discover the magic of pearl cultivation and Ama divers in action at the Mikimoto Pearl Island.
