Welcome to Neustift Abbey A haven of faith and culture for almost 900 years. A font of strength from its conception. In 1142 the Blessed Hartmann founded the Augustinian abbey of Neustift near his bishop’s seat in Brixen. Ever since, the abbey has steadily developed to become the religious, cultural and even commercial centre it is today.

Neustift Abbey’s constant ability to incorporate the developments of the time is reflected in particular by its buildings. The Castle of the Angels at the entrance to the abbey and the massive bell tower of the church thus date back to around 1200 and are in the Romanesque style.

The grapes for our two single-vineyard wines thrive in two very special locations in Novacella and at Marklhof in Cornaiano. An ideal exposure and the low yields lead to the creation of wines of particular elegance.
