The Shirt 2024 design is a tribute to the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame, who were nicknamed by sportswriter Grantland Rice in 1924. They were four backfield players known for their dominance on the field in the 1920s and have become an immortalized part of Notre Dame Football legacy.

Apr 15, 2024 · The Shirt Project invites students, alumni and fans of the University of Notre Dame to The Shirt 2024 unveiling at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, on Library Lawn. This year’s unveiling will feature student groups including the band, cheerleaders, dance groups and more, as well as guest appearances.

The Shirt is more than a just a shirt: it is an idea that originated in 1990 to raise money for a student-led spring festival. The Shirt became an instant hit with students, fans, and alumni, and its success uniting the Notre Dame family has surpassed anyone's expectations.
