Drilling holes in stratocaster replacement neck? | The Gear Page
May 26, 2014 · Hello gentlemen! I recently received a USACG strat neck without the mounting holes drilled at the heel. I've got the resources to do this myself and can pretty much do anything setup wise i.e. fretwork, electronics, etc. This is the only thing haven't done. I'm …
Telecaster neck drilling advice (help appreciated)
Mar 19, 2015 · Now place the neck in the neck pocket.. take an awl, Ice pick, 16d nail with a sharpened tip and poke it in the holes marking the location of the pilot holes on the neck's heel. I do it so that the marks are a little "north" of the actual location... that way, when ya screw 'em in, the bolts pull the neck down into the pocket..
Micro-tilt adjustment with 70s neck and 4-bolt plate
Jul 31, 2023 · This doesn't look like it'd work with a neck heel built for the 3-hole neck plate, because the micro-tilt set screw would just go right into the hole on that metal disc mounted to the neck that's meant for the bottom of the three neck "bolts" (screws). I.e., it wouldn't have anything to press against in order to increase the neck angle.
Drilling Mounting Holes On a Bolt On Neck | The Gear Page
Mar 24, 2017 · I'd suggest doing all the preliminary work yourself (basically getting the neck lined up properly, and marking the hole position by running either the neck screws or a drill bit through the body into the neck), and then walking into any cabinet shop while carrying the correct size drill bit (1/8" or 9/64" if I recall, but check that; already ...
Tele neck pickup mounting. Body or pick gaurd? | The Gear Page
Aug 24, 2016 · Not fast, but not impossible. If I did it for a living maybe I'd have a jig. Use a couple of screws to attach the pickguard over the empty cavity. Use a square to project the outline of the pickup hole on the floor of the cavity. Simple measurements from there. As to the OP's question, I think if it sounds good one way it will sound good the other.
Picking tuners for custom neck (strat) | The Gear Page
Feb 3, 2022 · I recently ordered a Warmoth neck for my Telecaster. I chose the modern Fender 10mm holes. But I plan to use Fender Classic Gear Tuners. These look like classic split-post tuners, but use the more modern mount hole system (10mm hole with two small blind holes to prevent the tuner from rotating in the main hole).
Holes drilled in neck pocket...any ideas? | The Gear Page
Aug 31, 2019 · The neck pocket hole is to secure the routing. If there are holes in the body cavities and it's made by fender, it's so the bodies can be identified. So somebody can't pass off a player as an Elite.
Put a 4 hole neck on a 3 hole 70's Strat? - The Gear Page
Apr 29, 2005 · Advantage - gives a true '4-bolt' neck join. Disadvantage - the new plate won't quite cover the hole from the original fitting, and you can never go back since the 3-bolt plate won't cover the two new holes either. #2 - drill a new hole in the neck and use a third normal neck screw (you may need one with a slightly larger head). Advantage ...
Brand new body holes don't align with neck holes. What to do? Is …
Aug 2, 2024 · The neck fits ok in the neck pocket but the neck pocket clearance holes don't align with the neck pilot holes. The neck off my fender mexi strat doesn't align either, for comparison. It's as if I need to push the neck in farther to align, when it's already in all the way. The body holes are too far rearward to fit.
Three CNC holes in Strat body - sign of Mexican made?
Sep 6, 2019 · I’m looking at an older Strat that’s being advertised as made in Japan. The seller sent me some pics, including this one with the pickguard removed. I’ve read that the three CNC holes by the lower bout indicate Mexican made. (With one hole indicating American made.) The neck on the guitar in question clearly indicates MIJ.
