Twenty-five judges in five categories will review submitted titles and select the five Winners of the 75th National Book Awards. The National Book Awards were established in 1950 to celebrate the best writing in America.

National Book Awards are given to one book (author) annually in each of five categories: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translation, and young people's literature. There have previously been many other categories but they have been retired or subsumed in the existing five.

These authors and books have won the annual National Book Awards, awarded to American authors by the National Book Foundation based in the United States. The National Book Awards were first awarded to four 1935 publications in May 1936.
