Jun 19, 2019. #17. As stated "Naptha" isn't a chemical. It's a generic name for a mix of light petroleum distillates. I've used the recent Rosonol lighter fluid to clean a smokey Les Paul. Performed like the old stuff. For some reason VM&P Naptha has disappeared in Canada.

Sep 10, 2020 · For cleaning wax from the exterior of pickups post-potting and for cleaning wax residue from bobbin assemblies prior to rewinding, it really does an excellent job. A little on the business end of a clean Q-Tip, lightly apply, wait a few minutes.. wax residue and tape residue will wipe right off. It leaves a pleasant orange scent as well.

Mar 1, 2020 · Naphtha is an aggressive agent, it's viscosity is somewhat less than that of water... if there are any small unnoticed fissures, cracks, punctures, etc., the naphtha can wick it's way under the finish.. If that happens it will cause the wood to swell... making the crack worse.
