WEBFeb 22, 2024 · The fact that Marvel allowed the Squadron Supreme to 1) even have a book when Namor doesn't, and 2) kill Namor just shows you the sorry state of Marvel's relationship or view on Namor and Atlantis for the past few, well, decades. Marvel's Atlantis could be as interesting and unique as you wanted it to be, it's fantasy realm.

WEBApr 17, 2018 · I would note that an Asian playing Namor still wouldn't make Namor Asian. Because, again, completely opposite side of the world. Atlantis isn't in Asia, and it's never been coded as having any particular Asian influences. (I mean, the whole idea comes from a Greek philosophical text. Atlantis is and always has been a white people myth.)

WEBApr 30, 2014 · I don't think Bill Everett gets enough credit for comics and Marvel. Besides creating the first anti-hero of comics and the seminal flawed Marvel character, he firmly set Namor in the real world. Namor didn't attack some imaginary city, he attacked NYC. The Statue of Liberty was in one of his early comics as Namor's "home base."
