Jan 21, 2008 · I now have three rifles with TriggerTech Special triggers, and they are WOW triggers. TriggerTech does not make a trigger for Winchesters. I will try a Rifle Basix trigger (Thank you GreyFox) on my newer Model 70 Extreme Weather SS 270wsm. Earlier I switched out my Model 70 Coyote 22-250 spring with an M-Carbo and the trigger pull decreased a lot.

Mar 6, 2017 · My father had a 1948 300H&H Model 70, it had normal throating and was very accurate (for the time) with Winchester 180g Power Point ammo. Only thing, we necked sized only back then with a Lee hand sizer, looked like a priming tool of today, and the cases were difficult to chamber on the third neck sizing. It needed trimming every shot too.

Jun 1, 2020 · Put the 70 bolt in my model 670 and the problem transferred to my 670. So that tells me it is a waste of time to remove the Timney and install the original trigger. Since the push feed cocking piece is manufacture discontinued and I'm unable to locate a new or used one, I will be taking it to Ahlman's in Minnesota.

Nov 28, 2018 · I just installed a Timney trigger on my post 64 Winchester model 70. Now the safety is stuck in fire position. The last thing mentioned in the instruction sheet is " may have to adjust the safety". I could use some advice from some who has been here.

Jan 27, 2013 · How about looking on Gun Broker ,or Guns International and picking up a pre 64 Model 70. Available in traditional rounds. 243 ,264,270,308,30-06,300 H&H . Whatever you find will probably shoot as good as you need it to.

Mar 5, 2014 · I have a Winchester Model 70 Extreme SS in a 30-06 that is only a few years old, but I reload and shoot a LOT. I think my barrel may be coming to the end it's life in the near future. I have been very happy with accuracy to this point as I am getting .3 to .5" 100 yard groups shooting Hornady ELDX in 178 grains using H4350 running at 2793fps.
