A monosyllabic ‘mm’ or ‘mmm’ usually shows satisfaction. This can be with something your character is tasting, smelling or experiencing.

If you want to say something tastes or smells good, you can use “mmm” or “yum.” If you are frustrated or upset about something, you might say “ugh” or “argh.”
