Nov 6, 2012 · My LMS 7x12 mini lathe kit has a dead center, a live center, lathe dogs of various sizes and drive pins that mount on the spindle plate. I’ve faced and center drilled both ends of an ~8” long 1” diameter 6061 Aluminum round stock section. All for learning’s sake.
Purchased a Vevor WM210V-L and the saga begins
Sep 7, 2024 · Buy a warranty through square trade and go back and forth between Vevor and ebay parts as needed and hopefully minimize the downtime after break downs. I've even watched a video where a guy bolted a 3 HP A/C motor on his work bench and made the pulley set to drive his mini lathe and adjust speeds. Hopefully I won't have to go down that road.

HSS or Carbide Tools for Mini-Lathe | The Hobby-Machinist
Mar 9, 2021 · Most mini-lathe users are a bit timid at cranking up the speeds and feeds it takes to make carbide inserts happy. I also have an 0XA post which accepts 1/2 inch (12mm) tools. That extra rigidity is important for a decent finish.

Dec 18, 2019 · It seems to me that aligning a mini-lathe is a little different from bigger ones. For one, the geometry of the lathe is different. So the adjustments would be a little different. I've found a copy of Rollie's Dad Method of Lathe Alignment. I've just done the first horizontal measurements. The test rod is ground and 20 mm in diameter.

I also could not turn on the lathe using the speed control. The potentiometer has five connectors - three for the variable speed and another two for the switch.
