Getting two extra metamagic options is the best part because you have the point pool to use them unlike what MA gives, the 2 extra points are a small bonus.

Neither of which is going to significantly impact your day. You would be much better off taking the Eldritch Adept feat as a Sorcerer.

I would think Twinned spell and quicken spell are popular so I can see people using twinned Haste or Hold Person/Monster for twinned. Or quickened Fireball and a cantrip or Hypnotic Pattern and a cantrip.
