From Manchester, they sold some barreled actions to Interarms which did the restocking here with Italian made stocks and marketed the finished rifles in the US. Whitworth restocked others for sale elsewhere. Most were made in standard calibers like the .30-06 and .270 and the .375 H#H and a few .300 H&Hs.

Jun 4, 2011 · It will probably be worth more than a military conversion. The highest value ones you've seen for sale are probably custom rifles on a "Mauser action." This means either a Mauser-style action, or that somebody built an entire gun around an existing Mauser action (not the barrel, stock or trigger). Let's see more of this one (if you have time).

Dec 23, 2006 · Many of these rifles shoot with astounding accuracy, even by todays standards. With modern bullets, powders, cases, etc., many of them are capable of far better accuracy today than when they were freshly minted some fifty years ago. Roy Weatherby put the best components and workmanship that he possibly could muster into these rifles.

These FN Mauser 98 actions are of the same design as those built at Oberndorf, and have a reputation for being well made. Post WWII, FN brought out a line of commercial actions, which are somewhat different to the military 98.

Sep 7, 2008 · The Mauser Model 96 is a lot like the Blaser action. You don't lift the bolt handle, you just pull it back about 20 degrees, unlocking the bolt. I have seen two for sale, a .270 and a .308. Not fancy, but nicely built. The .308 was a used on in rural Georgia, where no one knew what it was, so they were only asking $500 on consignment.

Feb 27, 2012 · I just picked up a nice 7x57 Mauser rifle stamped FLAIG'S on the barrel. would like to know more about Flaig's gunshop in PA, and their rifles. My rifle is on a commercial FN large ring action with a Timney trigger and figured walnut stock. The only visible marking is "7mm" on the barrel just in front of the action.

This is the model made on Husqvarna's light weight "improved" Mauser action that combines the best features of both the small ring m96 and large ring m98 rifles.The rifle is the full sized sporter version with the 24" barrel chambered in 30-06.

May 30, 2009 · My Mauser-based .30-06 P-H Safari came from England in a friend's suitcase in the early 60's - well before P-H started making model numbers like 1200, etc, and using BSA actions, and IIRC before Santa Barbara actions were made/available.
