Feb 8, 2014 · This is for checking the equipment ground path from the motor frame to the ground plate at the generator. Msha states that this reading has to be below 1 ohm. We are winding up with negative readings on the flukes, which makes no sense since we start off with around .7 ohms in the 500' 12awg test wire. Reply Like.

The machine manufacturer would paint the frame of the machine and the frame on the motor was painted. The paint would allegedly be an insulator.
