Feb 24, 2025 · Hello all, I am rewiring my Lionel 520 searchlight car. The old wiring is all dried out and brittle. I added the new wiring, but only one bulb lights up. I played with the switch on top. But, I think I might have pinched the wire in the light bulb housing. I am going yo redo that bulb wiring.

Jul 24, 2023 · This Loco was an absolute mess when I got it from an Estate Sale her in Rural Wisconsin...yep it was in a Barn since 1960 along with other assorted Lionel Treasures ( A Lionel #520 Box Cab (Wheel Cleaning, Oil & Lube, Brushes & Commutator cleaned) it runs fast. Some Rolling Stock, and a Lionel # 364 Log Loader still in box and a beaut!)

Sep 1, 2020 · About the sound board installed in the 520 Box Cab ... I knew I wouldn't find an "exact acoustical fit" for the Box Cab, so I installed a Lionel sound board based on an iconic electric loco -- the Pennsylvania GG-1. Good golly, no wonder! I wasn't thinking of the huge RS2.5 board set! I was thinking along the lines of the ERR RailSounds Commander, it's tiny! The speaker that comes with it is a 1.5" speaker with a nice baffle, that's all you'd need for good sound.
