Linuron (3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1-methylurea) is a phenylurea herbicide [1] that is used to control the growth of grass and weeds for the purpose of supporting the growth of crops like soybeans.
Linuron is a herbicide used to control germinating and newly emerging grasses and broad-leafed weeds. It is applied to agricultural crops, ornamental bulbs, and poplar trees for use in shelterbelts in the mid-west. Most of the linuron applied in the U.S. is to soybean crops.
