Dec 29, 2022 · Broke my Lamiglas downrigger rod at the end of the season and looking to pick up two new downrigger rods soon. Not happy with the quality of the Lamiglas so on to something new. I think I have narrowed it down to either a Gloomis IMX1174 or an Edge SAR360.

Dec 28, 2022 · I fish Lamiglas rods almost exclusively and haven't had any issues with them breaking so far. I fish Kenai Kwik XCC 934's for chinook off the downrigger and switch to XCF 903's for coho season. Since I take alot of newbies fishing I have a couple of Classic glass CG90DR's for them to use.

Dec 28, 2023 · Lamiglas 528 was a rod designed to be a direct competitor to the Truline D8. They also made a 527 and a 529. All are nice, fishable rods. I believe they were first made by Neptuna Rods. And were a beautiful red glass. Lami also made "Lemon glass”. A very vibrant yellow glass And also honey glass.

Nov 1, 2018 · Lamiglas builds rods built with mainly graphite, which does not have a high tolerance for high sticking. If you tend to high stick, go buy a glass rod. It won't snap. But when people used to fishing glass rods move over to the newer graphite/composite rods and try to fish them the same way, they tend to snap the rods.

Nov 11, 2011 · Hi All, I sent in 2 Lamiglas rods for repair on 8 August along with $40. I heard back from repair a few weeks later (late August) & I agreed to $120 charges to repair the Rogue river special and replace the Norwest special casting rod. Both rods were lifetime guaranteed but I'm in for $160 to get them back - but ok.

Nov 5, 2022 · Most people in the NW that want a salmon or steelhead rod in that price range have been turning to Okuma. The Lamiglas SI, XCC, and even Infinity lines are still very popular up here and are great rods but if you're looking for something closer to the $100 price range then there are probably better options out there than the Lamiglas X11.
