Mar 2, 2012 · I live in SoCal so I contacted LBC today and the woman on the phone said that regardless of the weight, one regular balikbayan box will cost $65 when sent as a sea cargo and it will arrive in the PH between 30 and 40 days. On the other hand, they charge $4.50/pound with minimum of 48 lbs. for air cargo and it will arrive in Cebu two weeks later.

Give them the LBC Tracking number and tell them it's the "Reference Number" for the shipment. All of this I don't have a problem with. Use FedEx or UPS when sending documents from the Philippines to the United States.

But if she lives in other provinces you should better use LBC or DHL because FedEx are not available in some other provinces. Better let her check first if there's a branch of the courier that you would use in her area.
