Dec 29, 2009 · But, in my experience with my KP89DC, they work just as well (or BETTER!) as other, higher-priced guns. Standard capacity, 15rd mags are common and relatively inexpensive. The only real drawback to the P89 is the lack of aftermarket accessories. I don't pimp my guns but there is little out there for the P89 series, aside from sights and holsters.

The also P89 lives up to the Ruger reputation as a quality USA manufactured firearm at a fair price purchased from Buds. You cannot go wrong with this pistol. Get it and shoot it, it will cycle with all kinds of ammo including HP, reloads, FMJ - "light" loads as well as +P.

Nov 2, 2010 · It's pretty dern simple... the 'K' stands for stainless steel. Beat me to it. Yeah really your gun is a KP89. Super early too. Has the same safety as the KP85. Nice but I would like a newer unit so all my mags interchange. Made the mistake of getting an older KP89DC to go with my newer P89DC.
