Oct 17, 2010 · The result is that we have unprocessed kick drum spectrumlab measurements. The surprise was that the fundamental on unprocessed bass drum (aka kick drum) is much lower than I had thought. In several setups, the fundamental was around 30-35hz and in all cases big power was measured up to 150-175hz.

Jan 21, 2005 · From our perspective of trying to reproduce a well recorded kick drum, I have found the integration region of the subwoofer and main speakers to be crucial. Also of great importance is the relative balance of the midbass from the main speakers. Much of the "kick" comes from chest cavity resonances in the 75Hz and 150Hz range.

May 9, 2021 · F208's are truthful, so if the kick drum sounds good on the recording, it will sound good through F208's. A good sub or two will help the fundamental frequency. Punchy and tight is partly the recording and partly how well your speakers (mains and subs) are tuned in your room.

That depends also, your mileage will vary. There has been actual test done and how good the chest kick is also depends--you need some lower frequency support to get the full monty.

A flat response is what most subs deliver, but something happens when you put that sub in your room. The room creates problems and the response is skewed. Nulls prevent the response from being the same across the listening position.
