Jan 18, 2017 · The k712 on the other hand, has bass, and I like it quite a bit for rock music whereas I prefer the k501 on jazz and instrumental/acoustic music because it has a liquid midrange that's proven hard to beat (possibly a psychoacoustic effect of not having bass to "get in the way" or draw attention away from the mids).

Jan 30, 2015 · With the K712 pads back on the warmth found in the Annie was almost present, it's not 100% identical. I found the Annie to go a bit lower while the K712 had a bit more presence. The K712 keeps a dryish nature here due to it's prominent peaks and treble. The actual treble is slightly more subdued than the K701/K702 because of the memory foam pads.

Jul 29, 2013 · The K712 does indeed present a pleasant and wide sound stage but the sound signature requires EQ, in my opinion, in order to achieve a bit more balanced sound. The K712 to my ears comes off a bit anemic in bass below about 125Hz (and more so in the sub bass) and it is a bit hollow around 1.6kHz and 3kHz.

Jan 2, 2017 · AKG K712 perform far better at higher volumes. Any orchestral music will show off dynamics wonderfully. If 2017 will be the year in which I fully immerse myself in classical music it will be because of these headphones. True reproduction of instrument is rather excellent.

Apr 10, 2013 · First off, the K712 Pro reaches lower in the bass regions. It is tighter, more defined, accurate, and cleaner in the bass. The K712 is capable of reaching down lower into the sub bass. The K712 Pro does have a tad too much midbass. However, this can be removed quite easily with EQ. In fact, this headphone responds incredibly well to EQ.

Apr 10, 2013 · I had never heard that any K712 Pro’s were made in China until the last few days when a user here posted a picture of writing on the box that reads “Made in China” but I’m still anxiously awaiting to see whether his actual headphones themselves say that, since mine have “Made in Slovakia” sticker even though I bought them from a Chinese seller on eBay.

May 20, 2014 · The best way to describe them is: pure or clean, with an impressive low end and soundstage. Their sound is - compared to the K712 - clearer, with a more balanced sound signature (especially the low end). They have more high frequencies than the dt880, but are IMHO nowhere near fatigueing as the beyerdynamics.

Sep 1, 2018 · K712 > HD650 > HD600. While HD600 is more forward/upfront, HD650 seems to be just a tad more resolving of microdetail for some reason. I ended up keeping the HD650 and selling the HD600, although both are nice. I would say HD600 is more vocal oriented while HD650 is more of an all rounder.
