Elizabeth " Jane " Shore (née Lambert; c. 1445 – c. 1527) was one of the many mistresses of King Edward IV of England. She became the best known to history through being later accused of conspiracy by the future King Richard III, and compelled to do public penance.

As the War of the Roses (1455- 1485) raged throughout England, Jane became renowned as one of the most intelligent and beautiful women in the realm, the witty mistress of the king and a dangerous political conspirator against Richard III. Jane was born in London in about 1445 as Elizabeth Lambert.

Jane Shore is an American poet. She graduated from Goddard College, and moved from Vermont to the Iowa Writers' Workshop. [1] . She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1972, [2] where she was a student of Elizabeth Bishop. [3] Shore met Howard Norman in 1981, and they married in 1984. [4] . They have a daughter, Emma (born 1988).
