May 20, 2021 · The uppland looks like a similar fabric to what they offered on the Ektorp. The harlanda full cover cannot be removed unless you take the arms off (sofa) and take the sectional pieces apart. The Ektorp looks a bit nicer - mostly due to the overstuffed cushions. The harlanda cushions come vacuum sealed and are kind of flat looking.

May 18, 2021 · Ektorp is being discontinued and replaced with Uppland. Dimensions are slightly different so my understanding is that the Ektorp covers won't fit the Uppland. And the Uppland has springs in the seat cushions. From my experience, if it’s unavailable to order online, it’s unavailable to purchase in store.

Sep 13, 2022 · I think I had it backwards. The Uppland replaced the Ektorp. We have a 3 seat Uppland with a chaise and it is comfortable, especially the chaise seat. However I love my Kivik sectional. It sits lower and it’s pretty deep- in general it’s just a more loungey sofa.

The fabric washed very well and dried quickly. The seats are higher quality foam so they should last 7-10 years. We plan on buying a new cover for $300 or so and it will be like having a new couch. Durability is surprisingly good in IKEA sofas. Everything else is average at best: comfort, fabric quality, style etc...
