May 22, 2022 · Hulk was massive in the 80s. He may not have been shredded but the sheer size the man had was unreal. Just look at this stare down with Andre. Steroids or no steroids, 2002 Hulk looked fantastic. Not only was he big but he was defined and cut. You could tell he put in an insane amount of time and effort to look the best he could for the run.

To us, the baldness was part of the Hulk Hogan gimmick, same as the huge arms, orange skin, ripped shirts, etc. Though, ironically, his actual cartoon form from the Hulk Hogan's Rock-n-Wrestling show had a full head of hair. I think this is how Hulkster wanted us to see him.

To add to your point, I think in a way Hulk Hogans persona has ascended above being "a guy". It really has become a beast of it's own, almost it's own franchise and idea. Almost like Superman. Terry Bolea is and always will be the only Hulk Hogan, but like Superman it has become a character that's completely seperate from Terry the person.
