Fixing into brick is a very secure way of fixing blinds but is much more time consuming for the installer. This is because the installer first has to drill a small hole in the brick using a hammer drill and masonry drill bit before then can install the blind using necessary fixings.

Hold down brackets are used to secure the bottom rail of your blinds to the bottom of a door or a window to prevent them from moving around. They are usually only needed for blinds installed on doors and in RVs.

The problem is with this new build house is that there seems to be lintels directly behind the plaster, therefore, I can only drill about 20mm before hitting them which is not enough length to secure the clips, which I found out!

Secure the center bracket to the wall or window frame to help support the blinds. With the brackets in place, the headrail is relatively easy to attach, though the exact way it connects depends on the type of headrail. Standard headrails will slide into the opening in the front of the brackets.

To lower blind, pull cord toward center of blind and slowly raise your hand while holding onto the cord. LOCK: When cord hangs straight down, the cord lock holds the blind in position. CAUTION: When blind is raised, keep lift cords away from door openings to prevent tripping hazard.
