Feb 13, 2017 · I'm a newbee on this forum. Although I've done a lot of fishing, I'm also new to serious fishing. I just purchased a Humminbird Helix 5 G2 with Chirp DI and GPS. The transducer is not yet installed so so far I've only experienced the GPS; works great! I'm very interested in your posts on this forum.

Dec 8, 2018 · I’ll be adding one of the new 2D Highspeed transom Mount transducers to my rig using a Y cable to give me my 2D sonar readings on the Helix 10 MEGA SI at my console. Here is a great article on CHIRP and the new Low-Q transducers that are available on the G3 helix and G2 Solix units, really helps us regular folk make sense of it.

If you are clueless to determining a pattern, it will give you an idea of where to look based on the criteria you select. Refer to the description on the Humminbird website.

May 20, 2017 · The Side Imaging and Down Imaging are the same with the Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2. The Down Imaging view is a composite of the two SI pulses. I have that model. Raymarine does not blend the SideVision to create the DownVision. The MEGA SI units have a dedicated Down Imaging crystal and the MEGA frequency (1.2 MKz or 1200 kHz) is very sharp.

Feb 22, 2017 · It is to connect a cable to a computer to do software updates rather than use a memory card. It is used to connect a GPS antenna directly to most units, but the Helix 5 and Helix 7 do not have power for the antenna, so a hardwire installation using a AS YC cable for the antenna and power is used with that port.
