Feb 6, 2023 · Just pour it in and spray, worked nice. I used just under 2 gal. I made holes in cardboard and put every bolt in standing up and painted all the heads. After install might have to touch up heads. I didn't paint tracks. I just used rust-oleum black spray cans for cab. Don't forget to spin those rollers when painting. good luck Nick

Mar 21, 2013 · Changing subjects there is a way to electrically charge paint so it can be drawn to the metal surface. I remember reading this in an old HOT ROD magazine. Guys would hook the negative cable of a welder to the car they were painting and the positive cable to the paint gun. With low voltage the paint would be drawn to the metal because of the charge.

Jun 24, 2024 · Sherwin Willams Kem Bond HS primer. I've painted many old rusty pieces of equipment. Sand the paint spots, prep the rust with wire wheel or grinder and blow the dust off. This stuff sticks to anything and really keeps the rust from coming back. Not for a top notch paint job but works great for equipment.

Sep 30, 2012 · A good paint job is all in the prep, painting is the easy part. Just good cleaning isn't enough, you need to skuff with a sander or sandblast ( if needed) the old paint or the new will peel off. Clean and prep, primer, finish color, it's alot of work but sure looks nice when you're done.

Sep 29, 2007 · Grubber, I always paint my dozers every 2 years. I know that sounds ridiculous but I do a lot of heavy brush clearing, it doesn't take long and all the paint is gone off of the limb risers, cylinders, and the stickers are almost non existent in two years. My other equipment gets paint regularly so it always stays looking good.
