he/they means that that person uses both he and they pronouns, probably with a preference for he. he/him means the person only uses he pronouns. I use he/ they pronouns, as I identify as a genderfluid (genderqueer?!) man, and, while 'he' is fine, it needs 'they' as a qualifier as I do not subscribe to 'he-ness' from a binary perspective.

Jan 14, 2023 · Typically, when someone uses multiple sets of pronouns (EX. He/Him + They Them) they'll put the pronoun they're most comfortable with at the front! (For instance, if someone used he/him + they/them pronouns but were most comfortable with they/them, they'd list their pronouns as they/him!) Hope this helps!

That’s awesome too! Frankly, as you said, pronouns ≠ gender, so it’s already quite reductive to consider someone “a he/they” as if that’s what defines their sense of self. You could be a cis person, or a nonbinary person, who uses both he/him and they/them pronouns if you wanted to be- but that’s up to you!
