Reliability wise, the G36 should outperform the Hk416 because the G36 proprietary magazine is more reliable than STANAG mags like the SA80A2 steel magazine. The XM8, which is basically a modified G36 outperformed the Hk416 in the US army dust tests.

The only steel HK that MIL/LE customers continue to pay a premium for is the MP5, the G36 was meant to undercut all the other Western assault rifles out there.

Dec 27, 2011 · I have an H&K G36 Dual optic on my SL8. The objectives are small for CQ works. I have used an Aimpoint M2 with 3X multipler on a La Rue swing mount on my M4 in Afghanistan. The aimpoint with multiplier is a good set up but puts the main optic too far forward for close quarters in my opinion if you I also used the multipler.

These conversions ranged from $5,000 to over $7,000.00. Sky is the limit.

Aug 20, 2012 · I agree on using the G36 magwell and G36 magazines. Sometimes you can get good deals on HK factory G36 mags too. The big plus with the PMags is they are both affordable, readily available, and also count as 3 US made compliance parts for 922r. I use the PMags and they perform perfectly, look great, and feel beefier than the factory G36 magazines.

Turns out it was an ammo problem: The Bundeswehr investigated the claims that the H&K G36 was suffering from accuracy problems and found that the rifle was not at fault. The problem lay with one of their ammunition manufacturers who were supplying ammunition with copper jackets that were to thin.
