Its upper reaches are known for world-class fishing for brown trout; paddling is popular all along the river; and the most extensive system of hiking trails in Ontario winds along its banks.

The Grand River - The Grand River, flowing 290 km from the Dundalk Highlands to Lake Erie, is aptly named, for its valley is the largest in Southern Ontario. A mosaic of Aboriginal and European cultures combined to shape the valley’s character.

Grand River is an unincorporated community in Ontario, Canada. It is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Grand River had a population of 757 living in 276 of its 282 total private dwellings, a change of -2.7% from its 2016 population of 778.
