Feb 15, 2024 · Dave, I hired a septic company to locate, and empty my tank a few years ago. Also had them install caps so future tank cleaning wouldn't require excavation. While they were there, I got them to locate all my drainage lines too. It was an extra $200 to locate tank and lines. They flagged out and drew map.

Jan 26, 2025 · Make sure you need them. Not sure where you’re located but here on the sandy coast, a good many neighbors are having septic problems from the snow seeping into the system. My tank and field still has a few inches on it and it’s saturated with melt. I can almost bet when I shower tonight is going to be slow.

Jul 14, 2020 · Ive been using a 55 gallon drum for 10+ years. Had a prior one for 5 years but tree roots grew into it. I dont drill holes in the bottom. I put the inlet hole on the side wall towards the top and outlet hole about 3 inches lower on opposite side.. You want your "tank" to always have liquid in it for bacteria to do its job.
