It means “that he might make known his mighty power.” What we mean when we say God is “God-centered” is that he acts like that. He saves for the sake of his name. He saves to make known his own power.

To be God-centered is to be focused on Him, to be all for Him, not just in word, but in deed. To be God-centered is to have our lives revolve around not only the question, “Who is God?” but also, “Why does having God in my daily life matter?” Our God is a treasure to be enjoyed, worshiped, and obeyed. Our God does not leave us dead and stranded.

To be gospel-centered is first to do everything you do in reliance on blood-bought grace and promises. To be gospel-centered is to do everything you do with a view of displaying the all-satisfying grace of God. To be gospel-centered is to live so that you show the glory of God, treasuring above all things the One through whom grace comes.
