Jul 20, 2007 · "Go ahead, make my day" can have opposite meanings: 1. that will make me very happy, restore my confidence, and otherwise gratify me. Or 2. give me a chance to get back at you. In the presidential campaign of 1988 George H.W. Bush used the prhase frequently, as President Reagan had before him, and it was not always clear which meaning was intended.

Both of them can be used aggressively — as in Clint Eastwood’s famous line: “Go ahead. Make my day!” You could use either of them, preferably with a smile and perhaps a please.

You make my day implica que para mí, haces el día agradable. You make my day o you made my day son frases bastante usadas, y tienen matices muy positivos.
