Jun 28, 2021 · Germantown, Tennessee is a lovely cozy community just miles from Memphis. We have great people, restaurants, great schools, great police and fire departments. Germantown is a wonderful place to grow up and raise a family. I am 5th generation Germantown and love it!

Also within Germantown city limits are Home2Suites and Hilton Garden Inn and I would expect those to be reasonably safe. And nearby (but in Memphis city limits) are Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn and Suites on Shady Grove Rd, which is a posh area and presumably pretty safe.

Moved to Germantown from Baltimore City 5 years ago. Had just started working at my current job when my manager referred to my area of Germantown as “ghetto”. I’ll also say I’ve hardly ever felt unsafe in either city, but I’d move back to Baltimore for the food alone.
