Collection agency garnished my wages but the debt was paid in full almost a year ago I made payment arrangements with a collection agency in May 2021. I was to make 24 payments to have the debt canceled/paid.

Mar 29, 2022 · There's no negotiating after they get a settlement judgement. You should have gotten paperwork to show up at court. Now your employer is legally obligated to garnish your pay per the garnishment they received. Again, it's a government issued court ruling.

After reading up on the MN laws surrounding wage garnishment, I have determined that I do not make enough money each week for my wages to be legally garnished, as well, I am a reciepient of SNAP/EBT which makes my wages exempt.

Oct 15, 2023 · From my experience, (I’m not an attorney) In Ny first they have to get a judgement which let’s assume they did , then the Marshall would contact your employer to garnish your wages, not the debt collector. If your employer does not comply with the Marshall they they can be held responsible for the debt.
