May 18, 2022 · The K5 Pro has 1500mW on SE compared to 1200mW for the K7. I also have a K5 Pro. The K7 has the newer AKM DACs and the ultra-clean THX amp chips, but at its price point something clearly had to give - so to me it's clearly best as a balanced unit. But the iFi Zen DAC v2 only has 220mW SE, so the K7 is still 6X more powerful and the Zen DAC v2 ...

May 18, 2022 · Fiio "house sound" with the THX-AAA amps mean they are fairly close to each other. As a basic headphone amp with sufficient power for my needs I'm very happy with my K7. I think all of the Fiio desktop range are a great balance of sound quality and features for very reasonable prices.

Jan 12, 2023 · Fiio K7 - £200 + (£100 for balanced cable)- gets very good reviews, balanced, THX, crazy good price. Hifiman EF400 - £500 - simply tons of power and an R2R DAC, no features. JDSlabs Element 3 - £500 - looks great, measures well, some nice features, but is it really worth the extra over the K7?

Jan 17, 2020 · Fiio K5 Pro and the new K7 are both very competent and would be fine for the Elegia. I still have both and use the K7 as my main desktop DAC/AMP. But there are a lot of other excellent options including the iFi items listed above.

Dec 21, 2023 · I found out about some headphone guru on reddit called oratory1990 and tried his k712 settings as best I could, but it wasn't for me. Almost too rich and I ended up with the Fiio Jazz preset when listening last night. Maybe I put them in wrong, and the Fiio doesn't have options for some of the things that need changing, unless I missed them.

Jun 5, 2020 · The BubbleUPnP app has an interface I really like a lot, perhaps not quite as good as the native Tidal/Qobuz apps for general use, but a huge improvement over Heos. Feb 7, 2024. #12. Wireless headphones like the ML5909 or Focal Bathys or Apple Airpods Max all have built-in DACs, so you wouldn't (actually can't) use them with the Mojo. The Bathys and 5909 can be wired using a USB-C input into them, but you cannot defeat the DSP and onboard DAC.
