Nov 18, 2020 · People that get fat themselves also get other things fat, like their children or their pets. Tegus are pretty muscular in general, and it can look like fluff to the untrained eye. Males in particular get big, beefy jowels. Obese Tegus look different than your standard Tegu; you can see the fat encasing their limbs.

Jan 10, 2022 · If he was growing fast then you wouldn't need to ask of he's fat lol. What he said down below is right I definitely wouldn't feed twice a day, cut back on the fruits and veggies a bit and offer his food earlier in the day as a complete meal. They will eat more than they should being an opportunistic feeder.

Apr 6, 2023 · Just egg diet can make tegus sick over time so this eating behavior needs to change. If she refuses to eat then take the food away and try again in a day or 2. Try different foods. Stinky foods like tilapia, salmon, beef liver, chicken hearts have better results. Tegus can and will be picky if you let them.
