Corsair vs. BF 109G,K or FW 190's - WW2Aircraft.net
May 8, 2005 · The Bf-109 K-4 is superior to the F4U-4 Corsair in everything but roll rate, the K-4 being much more agile in horizontal vertical maneuvers, easily out-turning out-climbing the Corsair. The Corsair did have the advantage of better control at high speeds though, something which is VERY valuable as demonstrated by the FW-190 fighting the Spitfire ...

F4U-1D Paint Color | Aircraft of World War II - WW2Aircraft.net …
Nov 19, 2016 · I have ordered a Tamiya 1:48 Corsair F4U-1 kit. I want to paint it the dark blue upper color you often see in the Pacific theater. First of all is that even a legitimate color combo for the early F4U's? Second the color is most commonly called Sea Blue. Which with Tamiya equates to their XF-17. Its a flat color but I plan on adding a gloss finish.
Was the corsair as good a fighter as the spitfire or the FW?
Feb 8, 2006 · The F4U could also be flown at speeds more than 30 mph slower than that at which the Mustang stalled. In other words, the P-51 could not hope to follow a Corsair in a low speed turning fight. Advantage: F4U-4 Outward Visibility: The Corsair provided for very good visibility from the cockpit.
Byron/Iron Bay F4U Corsair build - RCU Forums - RC Universe
Dec 8, 2012 · RE: Byron/Iron Bay F4U Corsair build I agree with Bob on re-enforcing the spar. I'd epoxy ply on both sides of the spar (total 3 layers) as I had a Byron hellcat and the wing broke off due to the metal spar breaking free of that lone ply (bought the plane already built).
