Estrucan dress appears to have had a major influence on Roman fashions. Wealthy Etruscans appear to have dressed very well. They appear to have given more attention to fashion than the Greeks. Their clothes were made of fine wool and linen. Some sources mention cotton, but we are not sure about this. Their clothing was often colorful.

Clothing was amongst these, and the Etruscans became particularly noted in antiquity for their production of linen used for books and clothing. Wool, more easily dyed and heavier, was used for outer garments while inner ones used plain linen. Animal hides and, much more rarely, cotton, might also have been used for clothing.

The Etruscan clothing style has several distinctive characteristics — the mantle – called a tebenna — is often shown worn in a uniquely Etruscan way with the circular part in front and the tails in the back. Much of the Etruscan clothing had decorated borders, and the people wore pointed hats and pointed shoes.
